The LANGUAGECERT Academic test is a comprehensive, multilevel English-language assessment designed to evaluate a candidate’s ability to understand, use, and communicate in English across academic and real-life contexts. It covers all four language skills — Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking — and is delivered in a secure test-centre environment.

A major recent milestone is that the test has been officially approved by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in Australia for all visa categories that require proof of English language proficiency, making it a viable option for study, work, or migration pathways to Australia.

Here are a few key highlights and practical points:

• The test duration is approximately 2 hours 34 minutes, combining written components (Listening, Reading, Writing) and a spoken component. 

• Candidates receive results within up to 5 working days, and scores can be shared with multiple institutions as needed. 

• For Australian visa purposes, the test must be taken at a secure test centre (remote / home-based versions are not accepted).

• Minimum score thresholds are specified by the DHA based on the English proficiency level you are required to demonstrate (Functional, Vocational, Competent, Proficient, Superior). For example, to meet “Proficient English,” you must achieve a score of at least 67 in Listening, 71 in Reading, 78 in Writing, and 82 in Speaking. ​
